Every season since 1869, the Mount Washington Cog Railway has assembled a crew to run trains to the Top of New England.  While many people return year after year, there are always openings for new people.  If you think you would like to part of this continuing tradition, follow the link below and send mail to the Cog.

There are openings for brakeman and fireman.

Both of these jobs offer unique opportunities.

The Brakeman has direct contact with the passengers, offering them history and information about the Cog and their trip up the mountain.  The brakeman also operates the switches.  On the downward trip, the brakeman operates the brakes and controls the speed of the descent.

The Fireman is responsible for the overall condition of the fire and assisting the Engineer.  The Fireman  and the Engineer work hand in hand to provide a safe, efficient trip.
